Greetings Fratellanza Family,
The pandemic is the biggest story in all of our lives and we are making small steps toward a return to normal. Spero che tutti nella vostra famiglia sono di buona salute. I am looking forward to a trip to Italy next April. Maybe I will come back speaking only in Italian after a few weeks on bus rides with fellow Fratellanza travelers. I have heard about what fun trips these have been and I am looking forward to it.
Here at the Club we are trying to get back to normal but it has been a struggle. The Drive Thru events have been pretty successful but we want to have indoor dinners where friends and family can sit and enjoy each other’s company. We are going to schedule indoor dinners and publicize them, however we need to have at least 100 people sign up in order to actually proceed with an indoor meal. So if you are vaccinated please sign up and we’ll follow through with a classic Fratellanza affair with a happy hour at the bar and a great Italian dinner in the dining room. If we do not meet our 100 person minimum, we will let all persons who have signed up know of the cancellation.
Another effort to open up the club is an old idea. We are going to open up the club every Wednesday starting in October. From 1 pm to 6 pm the club will be open for bocce, card playing and having a drink at the bar. Gianfranco has graciously offered to tend bar while folks are back in the club. There will be no charge for bocce, with the courts open for practice and pick up games. The club will be open to Ligure and Fratellanza members. This is a two month trial during October and November. If we see people coming in then it will likely continue, however if there is no attendance we will shut it down and wait until next year.
I look forward to seeing you at the club.
